d-school Foundation Programme Second Semester 2018

6 Jun 2018 - 09:45

The Hasso Plattner School of Design Thinking (d-school) is calling for applications for the 2018 second semester Foundation Programme.

The call is open to students who are registered for post graduate degrees/diplomas at UCT or Institutions of Higher Learning in any discipline within Cape Town. The programme will run for 12 weeks on two full days per week (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 13 August – 9 November 2018.

The foundation programme is an introduction to design thinking that equips students to work in multidisciplinary teams with project partners around complex challenges. The training will encourage the development of a human-centered mindset in students, and the development of a team culture that is rooted in design thinking’s creative and innovative practices. The foundation programme requires that the teams engage stakeholders in the context of the challenge and develop design proposals that solve problems that emerge.

During the programme, students will be guided by a trained d-school coach. The teams will learn more about their challenge, its context and the importance of being able to understand and act on human needs.
