South African Radio Astronomy Observatory Undergraduate and Honours Block Grants Programme Call for Applications for 2019 SARAO will consider applications from university departments that propose to support undergraduate and/or honours students studying any of the following degrees: · Bachelor of Electronic Engineering. · Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. · Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. · Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering. · Bachelor of Computer Engineering. · Bachelor of Science in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics and Physics. · Bachelor of Science in Physics and Electronics. · Bachelor of Science in Astronomy / Astrophysics and Physics. · Bachelor of Computer Science, with co-major in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics. · Bachelor of Science - Honours - Physics and Electronics / Astrophysics / Astronomy / Computer Science. · Bachelor of Science – Honours – NASSP (National Astrophysics and Space Programme). A SARAO Undergraduate and Honours Block Grant includes funds for undergraduate/honours bursaries, as well as student academic support and development. In addition to the above criteria, an applicant must:
already be enrolled part time (minimum of 2 courses per semester or term) or full time at one of the universities listed below, and be enrolled for the following academic year (January to December or September to May) at one of the following universities:
Applicants applying from eligible countries other than South Africa must already hold a study permit for South Africa.
Estimated expenses should be calculated and expressed in Rand

Education grants are awarded to women from developing and middle-income countries who, upon obtainment of their degree, intend to return to or remain in their countries, or other developing countries, and work to improve the lives of women and/or children.
We encourage MMEG recipients to inform other students about our grant, and to network with other recipient alumnae.
